CASTROL ALPHASYN PG 460
Castrol Alphasyn™ PG 220 gear oil is a synthetic lubricant based on polyalkyleneglycol (PAG) fluids enhanced with antioxidants, rust inhibitors and Extreme Pressure (EP) additives of high thermal stability.
Application
Alphasyn PG 220 gear oil is primarily intended for use in worm reduction gearboxes, where the low coefficient of friction of the PAG base fluid improves efficiency and consequently reduces power consumption and operating temperatures. This is particularly important in applications where sliding contact is high.
The use of a PAG base stock provides inherently high Viscosity Index (VI) and low pour point makes the product suitable for use over a wide temperature range. Alphasyn PG 220 meets the requirements of most OEM’s that allow the use of PAG based gear oils.Advantages

Castrol Alpha SP 680
The Castrol Alpha™ SP gear oil range of high quality lubricants are based upon highly refined mineral oil, enhanced with an extreme pressure additive technology providing good thermal stability and high load carrying capacity. The extreme pressure additive system not only provides high load carrying capacity, but was designed to provide microscopic wear protection. Microscopic wear protection, also known as micropitting protection, is critical in preventing destructive wear at the micro level therefore extending gear life and meeting the evolving demands of smaller and higher output gear boxes.
Application
The Alpha™ SP range is recommended for the lubrication of industrial gear boxes using forced circulation or splash and oil bath lubrication. They may be used for the lubrication of spur and helical gears and in some lightly loaded worm type gear applications. They have very good viscosity characteristics to ensure starting torques are not excessively high in cold operating conditions. Spheerol™ AP 2 and AP 3 are lithium-based greases incorporating solvent-refined base oils. They contain oxidation and corrosion inhibitors, which help to ensure long service life and a high level of protection for metal surfaces. The greases are water-resistant.
Spheerol™ AP 2 and AP 3 are mainly intended for use in plain and roller bearings of all types and in all kinds of machinery under normal load conditions and within an operating temperature range of -20 °C to +120 °C.Application

CASTROL SPHEEROL SX 2
Spheerol SX 2 is a complex calcium sulphonate grease providing superior performance benefits in the highly aggressive conditions experienced in the marine environment.
Application
Spheerol SX 2 is a true multipurpose ship machinery lubricant, specifically developed to provide enhanced lubrication and protection for bearings, wire ropes and open gears usually found in marine environments.
Spheerol SX 2 is suitable for most journal bearings, wire ropes and open gears used in marine deck equipment and can be considered for roller, ball and needle bearings generally used in engine room equipment.
In addition to the excellent protection provided for wire ropes and open gears, Spheerol SX 2 is also suitable for use on a wide range of deck equipment where it will protect and lubricate hinges, turnbuckles, screws, fair leads etc.

CASTROL RUSTILO DW 330
Castrol Rustilo™ DW 330 (previously called SafeCoat™ DW 33) is a high quality solvent deposited corrosion preventive with good dewatering properties. The solvent, after evaporation, leaves a firm greasy protective film.
Application
Rustilo DW 330 is a long term protective for use in severe conditions where a high degree of protection is required. It is ideal for protection of machine tools and components prior to long-term storage or transportation.
The product also shows good water displacing properties. Although Rustilo DW 330 can be applied by brushing or spraying, its dewatering action is most effective if the articles to be protected can be immersed in a dip tank.Advantages

The Perfecto XEP range is primarily intended for the lubrication of highly loaded industrial gas turbines, aero derivative power turbines & driven machinery and turbo machinery where the lubricant is exposed to high local temperatures during operation and the heat soaking period during run down.

CASTROL AIRCOL LPT 68
The Castrol Aircol™ LPT Range (previously called Energol™ LPT) are refrigeration compressor lubricants formulated from highly refined naphthenic base oils for use in both large and industrial and small domestic refrigeration units.
Application
The Aircol LPT range is formulated to function as lubricants and coolants, as well as sealants in refrigerating compressors.
They maintain good lubrication properties at the high temperatures reached during the compression phase and good fluidity at the low temperatures within the evaporators. Excellent lubrication of the moving parts in the compressor as well as recycling of the oil, entrained into the system by the refrigerant, are therefore ensured.
The chemical stability of the Aircol LPT oils prevents them from reacting with the refrigerants used in refrigeration systems to form potentially disruptive breakdown products. All Aircol LPT grades are suitable for use in systems using Ammonia (NH3) or halogenated hydrocarbons. They can also be used where good low temperature flow properties are required in the lubricant.

CASTROL LMX GREASE
This is a multi-purpose high performance grease, based on mineral oil and thickened with lithium-complex soap. It is formulated to provide excellent high-temperature lubrication performance. It possesses EP (extremepressure) load-carrying properties, and contains additives selected to enhance resistance to oxidation, corrosion and wear.
APPLICATION
-Castrol LMX is formulated for use in grease-lubricated plain or rolling bearings operating at temperatures from –30 °C to 150 °C (continuous rating).
-It may also be used for short periods at temperatures of up to 180 °C in bearings designed to operate under such conditions. In such cases, the frequency of re-lubrication should be increased, operators should contact equipment manufacturers for guidance.
-Examples of applications include automotive wheel bearings, all types of general industrial machinery, electric motors and machine tools, as well as applications involving higher temperature such as are found in papermaking machinery and oven fans.
-In addition, its good EP characteristics and low slumpability are advantageous in bearings involving both high loaded applications and vibratory conditions, such as in steel mills, railway axle-boxes and construction equipment.
-High Drop Point and excellent stability at high operating temperatures make this a good alternative to claythickened high-temperature greases, the long service-life potential of Castrol LMX at temperatures over 100°C makes it ideally suited to machines in which poor accessibility makes frequent re-lubrication difficult, whilst the longer permissible lubrication intervals maintenance costs.
